congrats on the buy....

you might not need another trailer.....if you have bunks.....and the bunks are good....just leave it....

if the boat is dry, the sitting on the bunks will not bother it....the only time sitting on bunks for any amount of time will bother a hull is if the boat is waterlogged and the hull weight is dispersed too much on either side of the bunks.
but for a stock dry boat......it wont hurt at all. a boat could sit there for years on a bunk with no problems

you think itd be fine even tho the boat hangs off the bunks by about 2ft? This trailer is a salvage trailler, it had a fold away tongue but its been welded so it cant fold anymore, almost half the left fender is cutoff and none of the lights work because the wiring is all hacked up. But i picked up a trailer from a friend for almost nothing, its in great shape and has brand new tires including the spare and all lights work, but the trailer might be a foot short. I knew i could make a few hundred bucks on it so i took it without measuring it instead, But if it is too short can i just replace the bunks with longer ones or would that not be of any help since it wouldnt be supported underneath by the frame?
