Console Redo

Has any one reworked their console? Mine is just barely functional and I want to rework. There is wasted space the dash is faded and broken. So I have a clean slate so to speak. Any suggestions about materials, layouts?

Mine was the same way when I got my pontoon. I found a fiberglass top on eBay that was already cut out for the gauges & steering wheel mount in great shape. I'm using 1/2" marine plywood to build the base & will fiberglass it before I cover it. I am also putting aluminum "U" channel along all the bottom edges to prevent water getting into the ends of the plywood. It's almost ready to install the gauges & steering setup & throttle controls. Take your time & you can make a console to fit the way you want it to.

i am in the process of refurbing mine. i built the console to my specs, to hold 30 gallon fuel tank, trolling motor battery. i bought so black lexan, for the dash panel. i hinged the seat area (front of console, fuel tank under) and the back of the seat, for easy access, to control wiring, also removable panel under helm, for easy access.
