Have a 1996 V6 150HP merc, Oil injection and oil alarm was disconnected by Mechanic years ago, I run premix. The over heat alarm begin sounding countinously last Saturday, temp is OK. Next morning (engine at 80 F) turn key on and alarm still sounds continuosly. What or where to look into to see whats causing this. Thanks in advance.

Did the mechanic tie the oil wires together to disable it? Check how he disabled it. Maybe the wires are grounding out or came apart.

You can have all the conveniences of oil injection restored with Marine Solution's Electronic Oil Injection System. This is a bolt on unit that requires no powerhead disassembly and comes with a 2-year warranty. Call them at 262-524-0804.

What happens if this electronic oil injection goes bad, is there a horn? How much is this unit, and is it dependable?<br />CU
