I found this on another site "Just curious if anyone has heard anything about the ethanol that is now being used in the gas supply affecting outboard engines"? No real responses. I looked thru this site and did not find any comments either…have there been?

I am particularly interested in this comment ..."I talked to my mechanic the other day and he said Mercury put out a statement that says the newer technology engines "should" run fine with the 10% stuff". Where can you find the Mercury statement?

We've been using blended fuel for years in the midwest. Its just fine. BUT -- if yours is an older engine and the tank is older, ethanol will loosen the crud and may clog the filter and carbs. In fact, this may happen a couple times initially. Once cleaned up however, your engine will live nicely on blended fuel.
