I am having problems where my trim motor is running up on its own. I thought I had a faulty switch and so removed it and the motor continues to run!
The only way I can stop it is to disconnect it from the power supply. It wont run if I connect to the down trim switchand hold it in place obiviously this is not an option. Any ideas where to start. I have checked the solniodes for any crossed connection or shorts but cant find anything obivious. I only replaced the pump motor and solniodes last season so I am at a loss as to whats casuing the problem. It has done this before while the enginue was running but once I disconnected it and left it for a while then reconnected it, it appeared to solve the problem. But thats not the case this timm.....!!!
Help and Thanks

Re: continously triming up

Disconnect the small wire from the up solenoid. Check it out. If it still raises the solenoid is bad. If it doesn't there's a short in the wiring.

A solenoid can go bad at any time, or even be bad when new.

hope it helps

Re: continously triming up

Hey J
Solenids are the prewired type with a push on block which contains the the spade connectors so i cant isolate just one wire from them..
I will completly disconect the up solenid and see if it will run down.
Thanks
