I bought a 1985 Trophy hull id# DMN13423J485
It has a johnson 90hp id#J6121873
I would like to know what this flat knob below the ignition
switch is used for. And on the outside of the control box is a kinda long lever that rises up and down, what is it used for.

Re: Control Box knob

The knob is for throttle friction.

THe lever is the warm up lever. It advances the throttle slightly for warm up and starting.

dave starting procedure, pump fuel line bulb, until hard, raise idle lever, turn key to on position, and push in for 8 secs, then turn to start. pushing the key in primes the intake to start. if your engine has a choke push choke button while starting.
