Does anyone know if there is an adjustment on the control end of type 479 evinrude throttle cable.....mine seems to have so much strain on it that when I push it forward the cam it is attached to wants to ride up out of the track it is supposed to be in.....Kinda looks like there is a place on the end 4 a wrench just before the fixed blk stud.....does this turn thus lenghtening the end of the cable????

Re: Control Cable Adjustment

the end of the cable does not adjust, the trunion nut on the cable is threaded to adjust the cable. if it's coming out of the bracket something is wrong. the cable should be adjusted so the with the engine linkage is against the idle stop, you can connect without moving the engine part. adjust the trunion so the connect just slips on.
