My control cables are not functioning properly. I have adjusted the barrel retainers on both of them with no results. Is it possible that they could be stretched?
I'm going to include a little sketch of how my box is functioning. the big black arm is the shifter arm. the line coming out of the top of that arm is when the arm is in the TDC/Neutral Position. the 2nd line is the position of the shifter arm when the motor engages in forward gear. the 3rd line running through the bottom left corner of the rectangle is the position of the arm when the throttle plate first begins to open.

the key is on the upper right side, and the cables come out there on the lower right, under the key. this is basically what is going on. The throttle plate begins to open when the shifter arm is in the position of the 3rd line
