I have a 67 merc and a 71 controller. the motors have a little different wiring casue one is a thunderbolt. can I use the newer controller and modify the wires to work?
CD ignition? not sure what that means lol. Anyways I went ahead and carelessly hooked it up without checking the wires and it fired up just fine. The pinouts are different on each motor but it still works. I'll probably check it sometime in case there could be cause for longterm damage.
