Controller question

My controller is just plain wore out. I know I can replace it with a new one but have the chance to pick up a twin for cheap. Question is can I use the twin stick in place of the single? I know I'd have to mount a remote trim switch. Anyone see any other issues? I really like the looks of the twin.
Oh yeah, I'll be looking them up to an OMC with a Cobra drive.

Hard to tell with little info.
The OMC cables may not even work.

Best to stick to the single control instead of rigging something up that could trash your drive if the shift throw is not correct.

About any BRP brand or Teleflex control would be a better option.

You're probably right and I guess I'll take the trip over to West Marine tomorrow.

I'm still gonna take this guy up on the twin stick. Two six packs of Becks dark and I gotta take it out. Never know what the future might bring.

With a twin stick your shift throw could be fine if your drive needs less then the controller has you will be able to get full engagement. No reason you couldn't use it. Just don't go slamming from F to R in a hurry.

West Marine would be top dollar on a new control.
Depending on what you have you could save about half the price ordering online.
The last one i bought from BRP was super nice,chrome and i found it new online for almost 300 below retail...

It's an original US Marine on a 89 Bayliner 19' capri cuddy. I'll check online but don't want to wait. The season isn't over yet.
