I have a 1989 Yamaha 9.9 4 stroke Elec Start that I made out of a few motors earlier this year. I've been using it as a kicker on my 16' aluminum. I took off the control arm and replaced the throttle/shift cables with 12 foot cables and extended the kill switch wires. (pretty inventive eh?) The only thing I havent moved up front is the starter button. My question is which actual remote controls would work with this motor? (my setup is ugly and awkward) If I did extend the starter button would it work if I just take a wire off each lead on the back of the existing button and run them to a button on the dash?
