I am re powering my 288 stamas liberty, the boat has the original 1991-200 mercury outboards on it.I'M installing 2003-200hp yamaha four stroke's. my question is, will any of the original controls or guages work with the new motors? Thanks

no. the harnesses are all wrong. far better off using yamaha controls and guages.

Hi,<br />Personally I would use Yamaha orginal guages and controlbox for Your "new"(er) Yamaha F200.<br /><br />Any marine mechanic (I'm not) will tell You in general to not mess around with cables etc from other manufacturer and try to get it to fit another manufacturer outboard.<br /><br />As a side note: If You are going to buy new Yamaha Digital guages it is now possible to get a combined speedometer and fuel managment guage.<br />Just wanted to mention it so You do not miss that if You are interested (the Yamaha fuel management guage is also available as a separate guage if needed).
