Hello:
I live in southeast Louisiana and was wiped out by last years hurricane. I own a Spartan bay boat, with a Johnson 110 hp outboard. I've had it for years. The engine is about 10 - 15 years old. Runs great, but I've noticed the throttle getting a little stiff. All the owners manuals were washed away. Even the serial number peeled off. Is there any way to adjust the tension on this thing ? I vaguely remember the switch below the startup key has something to do with it. I just don't want to mess up a good thing.
Anyone know where else on the engine I might find the serial number ? I know they have hidden number on cars, but I'm not familiar with outboards. The dealership where I purchased the engine is no longer in business. (Katrina washed him away too.). If I can find the serial number maybe I can write off for an owners manual.
