I have an old glass master can't tell what year it is or anything it has no hin number to old i guess. I have a 40 hp motor on it but no wiring from the from of the boat to the motor. can some one tell me what I need and where to find it?

its been a while since i messed with it. thats the only pics I have of it. I will run out to where i have it stored tomorrow and try to get some more pics and info off of it

Any wire harness if needed should come with the engine. I would get a old set of twin controls clean it up and use, it would look kinda period for your boat and you would not have to worry about shift throw length, the part you need to get right on a single lever.

Plus you gave me the model number and I looked it up.... (Model 40DE17B)
Any of the old OMC two lever shifters will work. Johnson/Evinrude/Gail of that era used the same cables and controls. There's a Bo'sun, Shipmaster, and Simplex control.

You'll have to make a wiring harness from the engine to the ignition key if you don't have one.
