I have 1 2003 Merc 25 electric start, tiller handle. I am thinking of putting a console in my boat and converting the Merc to remote. I understand there are kits to convert the throttle and shift to remote. Has anyone had any experience with these kits? Is it something I can do myself or would you recommend having a dealer do it. I'm reasonably handy with thing like this but I'm wondering if special tools or a lot of experience with Mercs is required.
