converting 1975 Merc 165 to the "new style" lower shift cable - verify part numbers?

This is about the project in my signature.

Motor and outdrive are 1975 Merc 165, here are the serial numbers:
O/D: 4190135
Motor: 4162853

Got into my gimbal housing last night to replace the bellows and I found the jacket on the shift cable is split wide open. Poking around here for info on replacement I find that I have to convert the housing to accept the "new-style" lower shift cable. Found a post from Don S advising to read section 4A in Manual #6 where it describes the process. Got it, read it, good. Thanks Don!

I'm asking for help verifying the right parts to order:

Shift cable nut tool - quicksilver part no. 91-12037

Lower shift cable kit - is this the right one? I already have the transom seal kit and it looks like there's some duplication in parts there so if it's possible to make it cheaper by ordering only the parts I actually need, I'd love it.

Tap - quicksilver part no. 91-95639
(iboats doesn't appear to carry this part so I'd appreciate recommendations on where to order it from)

Please send back that transom seal kit and get OEM. That aftermarket stuff doesn't last very long. My exhaust bellows split open in less than 6 months, my u-joint bellows is very cracked and I'll be replacing it with an OEM bellows at the end of this season. It's not even two years old. My after market trim limit switch also crapped out after less than 6 months. I'm now a believer in OEM parts.

I did replace my split bellows with an aftermarket exhaust tube since there is no stress on it. It just fits over the exhaust pipe on the bell housing when the outdrive is lowered all the say.

I built my own shift cable nut tool by welding a couple of cheap sockets together, but if you don't have a welder you'll have to buy one I guess. I suppose you could buy a tap at Sears.

Sorry, I can't answer your question about the cable. I still have the old ones.

$30 for a tap? Have you tried NAPA, Sears, or Advance Auto Parts?

Oh. It's a special tap. Never mind. When you're done with it, I'll buy it from you for $15.
