Good morning,
First time poster here. I have a 1979 25hp Evinrude. I'm looking to convert it from a pull start to an electric start.
My question is: do I need to change the flywheel? I have got the starter motor etc, but not sure if I need a new flywheel.
Thanks Terry

If the flywheel has the ring gear you are good to go.----Any pictures of your starter.

The starter is brand new and I awaiting it to arrive from the sales place.
As to etc, I have the push button for the starter, and wiring.
All the kits I have looked at do not show a fly wheel, but i am not sure if the illustrations are just for the starter motor and associated parts, but the flywheel is not mentioned

Thanks for the feedback

Yours has the flywheel with the ring gear.---Hopefully you ordered the correct starter motor and bracket.----The brackets command many beer tokens.

Excellent
I'm on the right track then. Now to get the starter bracket, or make one. The starter motor was checked by the sales rep as the correct one. So I'm on my way.
Thank you for the information and feedback.
