Hi guys,

just recently weve had this topic in here already, I know..... Since there were all kinds of postings Ive got me an original Honda parts-catalogue and worked completly through the motor-section: As it turns out, the only things that are different from a BF35 to a BF45 are the jets in the carburetors! Thats it, nothing else. No different camshaft, no different valves and no different carburetor-cam at all! There might be a carburetor cam available to easily reduce the hp of a 45hp motor to run it on lakes where not more is allowed, but Honda never did it that way (at least according to their own parts-catalogue!). So lets start the discussion all over again, because there might be a true benefit for all owners of the low-output/same displacement Honda- outboards in here (the 35s and the 40s to be precise)- I really want to know some pro´s oppinion on this, because if changing the jets and re-adjusting the carbs is all that is needed to gain some true 10hp Ill definetly go for it!!!

many greetings from Germany,
Rotty
