Re: Converting to non vro. On new pump which one is the fitting layout?
google a parts schematic for something like a 1983 johnson 150 and go to the fuel schematics. Should be easy to identify the info you need. Might have to search around motor sizes to find your pump. The fitting in the center (on the side) is fuel out. With that fitting facing you and the other two down the one on the left should be the pulse, the right should be fuel in. Not knowing anything about your motor like the size or year and not knowing what pump you bought makes it impossible for anyone on the forum to say for sure. Once you have part numbers from schematics google pics of the part number if you need to identify your new pump. Good luck.
This is an ancient topic, so I apologize up front for not being able to find it in archives. This project has been shelved for a couple of years, and I've forgotten the fitting layout of the new fuel pump. Which of the 3 fittings on a non vro pump is which? Which way to mount the pump so it's not upside down? It's fuel in, fuel out, and pulse. But I can't find the right thread to show what is what. So many guys have done this conversion, it oughta be pretty straightforward. The pump was bought a long time ago, and has been put away. Pics would be great. Thanks in advance. Kevin
