There's several though it's loosely a chemistry joke.
A lot of H in LPG / propane so when you burn it you get a lot of H2O. I'm familiar because I convert vehicles to run on propane, at this time of year when it's cold and damp some converted vehicle owners worry about their engines if they get more steam out the exhaust from a cold start.
