I found a 1968 15ft Mustang Lonestar boat with a 1968 Mercruiser 60hp sterndrive. The motor does not run but it's not seized. Has great compression and maybe spark. Can't tell since the starter is shot. The motor was last started in the early 90's. Looks reasonably clean for the age.
Can't post pics cause of broken camera.

Any one have one of these boats with this motor?
Is this a good motor worth fixing up?

Ayuh,.... That motor, 'n drive is Waayyy past Obsolete,.....

It's a Renault motor, 'n the model 0 drive,...
No parts, No service, Nothin' available for it,...

If ya want a "Project", 'n plan to re-power it with a more current motor, 'n drive,....

Go for it,....

Wow, I didn't relize that their were no parts available for this motor. I was going to purchase it for a cheap fun little boat. But the thought of a repower scared me. A $500 project boat in need of a new drive and engine.
And in order to repower it I would have to find a small enough engine to fit the boat.
60hp that's unheard of anymore. The lowest HP that mercruiser I know of that is still made is 120hp.

I might pick it up and see if I can get the motor going. Or yank the motor put a new transom in and put a outboard on. Most likely I won't but still a cool boat.
