coolant draining in my oil pan (follow up)

Hello again, i have the 3.7 mercruiser in line 4 165 hp with coolant draining directly into my oil pan. I attempted to do a pressure test and air is leaving from my ehaust (closed cooling system) as fast as i can put it in there, does this make any sense to anyone,?, i was told it was probably the second cam shaft seal or a cracked block on the first post, i am hoping to get as much info as i can before i start tearing it down and all info is greatly appreciated. thanks again

The next step is to isolate the components.....
Are you sure that you tested the closed side of the system?.......
There is a raw water side that dumps to the riser at all times & a fresh water(closed) side that cools the block......
If you are testing the raw water side, it won't tell you a thing.....
You would do better to disconnect the heat exchanger & pressure test the block to isolate your problem.....
Make sure you are testing the right hoses on the closed side.....​

i just blew compressed air thorugh my coolant fill, it should hold pressure right? next i removed my resevoir and found signs of coolant in my exhaust ports, im pretty sure that is suppose to be water tight right??? I'm gonna try and test my block next for pressure, i'll let u know what happens. there is alot of missing area around the veins that allow coolant in on the exhaust manifold, its possiably where the coolant is getting in, i forma gasketed it with my factory gasket to see if i can get a tight seal. any more info would be great and ill let u know how i made out. thanks for the response.

If you were attempting to pressure up the cooling system via the coolant fill that would be a good start. It's told you that you have a leak in a closed system. Now you need to remove the closed system and pressure up the "closed side" of the engine block part of the cooling system.

Intake/exhaust manifolds are usually not a path for water to get into the crankcase (it will run in to an open intake/exhaust valve respectively though and a little bit can get past the rings but not usually in huge volumes)

the block holds pressure, when i blow into my coolant fill i can here a wooshing sound from below it inside the exhaust manifold, im guessing that this is my problem, but i bit the bullet and called a mechanic so hopefully i will know whats wrong tonight, maybe there wasnt as much water as i thought in the oil pan, and when i fill my coolant and run it i end up with coolant in my exhaust ports in the exhaust manifold, im guessing that water is not suppose to be in there right? all in all i got a real mess of a new boat on my hands it seems. thanks for all the insight guys and any more info would be great.

it could be the camshaft seals... is there any drops of coolent coming out of the weephole on the front of the motor near the front housing
