Hello I have a 1976 115 hp johnson. It recently over heated and I replaced the water pump (not just impeller the entire pump)and it takes a little while for the water to start comeing out the pee hole. Before the overheat it took a second to start comeing out. I ran the motor in the yard for 10 min and it stayes cool. I'm pritty sure the tubes for the pump lined up right. Im trying to find out if there is some thing else I can check so I don't have to go yanking the lower unit off for no reason.

I have taken the line off the pee hole and it is clean.

The impeller was shreded when I went to replace it. I pulled all the hoses off the block and ran water all thru it and ran water up thru the tubes that feed the motor to clean them out.

So I guess the question is, is it normal for it to take a while for it to start peeing?

Sorry for the long post.

Thanks for the help.
