When I was changing my poppet valve on my 1988,135 mercury. The old inner rubber seal that stays in the block ,fell inward in to the power head.
Is this a problem? can the seal stop up the cooling,
Do I need to get it out? and if so .How?
Thanks
Tony

Re: Cooling Question oops

I would think you need to remove it if you can. Use a piece of .025-.030 wire with a curved end see it you can hook it. At high rpms, there is a lot of water that runs through that area. I have never tried to do this, but have where others have succeeded.

I was doing that before I posted.Any other ideas?

Do I need to pull the power head or foot?
Thanks

try a vacuum cleaner. but you need to be able to find the piece if it is successful. Otherwise you won't know.
