Should water be coming out here under normal operating temperature?
I didn?t see a drop when on muffs or on the lake.
Thanks for any help in advance.

Water should be spitting / misting out of there at idle.---If you were skiing behind the boat water would pour out of there.

No overheat horn.
I could touch the cylinder head while it was running and it didn't seem hot.
That is what makes me ask if water should be exiting the holes.

Yes.
That is interesting..the water was very cold.
The lakes around here had ice not long ago.
Service manual calls it a exhaust outlet not a water outlet.

It is the idle exhaust relief !----Should have some water misting / spraying out at idle !!

A 1969 55 hp engine. They guys are correct. After starting and running for maybe a minute, the thermostat will open in the powerhead and a fine water mist will start to come out of the exhaust relief ports. That's a good sign.
