200 hp evinrude 1976 it is over heating just replaced the water pump and i got good flow of water but it its not get warm but the enigin is getting really hot. its setting the over heating alarm off.what can i do to fix this

Did you check the thermostat?

thanks lot drowned rat i check the thermostat sunday and they are ok and i checked if i was getting water to the bottom and i was so i took the lower end off for the fourth time and here the pipe that went in to the water pump had a bent in it and never went in to the pump all fixed now going to the water on thur i hope it will be the fist time the boat has seen river water in 18 years it saw planty of rain. thankyou duster dan

If it still heats, ya might have to replace the deflectors in the heads if its been eighteen years.<br /><br />c/6<br />Hooty
