Would anyone have an issue with having any of their advice copied and printed....just for my own personal use so I can work on my boat and have some sort of guide to go by?....if so please tell me and i will not do it.

Re: Copying and Printing

If it is posted on this site I am sure no one will have an issue.

If you use someone else's information and repost it as your own...... then there becomes an issue. We like to give credit to the original author.

iboats is real easy to get along with ;)

Re: Copying and Printing

iboats forum is a vast pool of knowledge that is shared with ALL members. Use this knowledge to your advantage, but don't write a book and claim it as your own and I don't see you having a problem with anyone. We are here to help. Good luck on any and all projects you have.

No, you must take your laptop out to the garage and get it all full of grease and gearlube like the rest of us.

I'm just upset I didn't get to do it first :(

Seriously though, printing for personal use is 100% fine. After all, it was posted to a public forum. Publishing for profit, whole 'nother ball game.

Heck, if you use the knowledge I've shared to make a profit, good for you. If I wanted to keep it all for myself, I'd keep it to myself. If anyone gets miffed about "stolen knowledge", they need to unplug their internet.. yesterday.

Stolen knowledge <<<< what a great phrase :D I wish more people would steal knowledge and keep it for future use!

Being a knowledge thief is fine but just make sure you let people know who it has been stolen from! There is no crime in stealing knowledge unless you fail to give credit for it.

Look at the bar on the top of this thread, click on Thread Tools, click on printable version and print away, you don't even have to copy.

If a teacher is paid to teach, is he/she sharing the knowledge or selling the knowledge?

Since the teacher rare is the source of said knowledge, I think it is closer to fencing....
