great news from the mechanic today. No block or internal damage. The mechanic cannot explain why the plug popped out. I wonder if a flaw in material has ever been reported. hmmmmmmmmmmm This seems to occur often as I have been reading online in several forums. Some have not been as fortunate.

The mechanic brought the engine to normal operating temperature, ran compression checks, checked the oil and eyed for damage.

Thanks for all of your input.

Re: Core plugs

Somebody took it out,or the most likely candidate is improper winterizing caused expanding freezing water to push it out.
