I have a 1999 40 hp, oil injected Johnson 2 stroke, Model J40PLEEA, serial # 0 04616714. I ordered a fuel pump kit from MarineEngine.com part number 4381616, which was the kit offered for this model motor. When I opened the kit, the instructions say it is for 1990 and newer 9.9 to 155 model Evinrude and Johnson outboard motors WITHOUT the VRO2 Oil Injection system. This is an OEM part P/N 433519. Is there only one fuel pump kit for this motor, regardless of whether it has the oil injection or not or did the vendor send me the wrong kit?

No expert here, but it does look like you ordered and got the pump repair kit 0438616 which is for a NON-VRO engine..
There are 2 sections.. "Fuel Pump" and "Fuel Pump & Filter".. I think "Fuel Pump" is the VRO, and "Fuel Pump & Filter" is the NON-VRO)..
Not positive (Don't have VRO myself) but I think the section you should be looking in is here:

Somebody I'm sure (and hope) will correct me if any of this is incorrect info...

Hope it helps somewhat...

Yea I think your right, the parts listed under fuel pump are all the connevtions to the vro. My vender was blocked out, but it's a big vender for marine engines out of Vermont.

Go to the vendor's site, and check the carb parts diagram for your model, then confirm the kit number. Call customer service if a question.
