Took a little time to adjust low speed mixture on my 1984 35HP Evinrude today. I ran wot for 5 min, returned to iddle in gear, and leaned mixture 1/4 turn at a time till motor started bogging down. Then backed 1/4 turn out again. Best iddle was around 1 turn from bottum, initial is 1 1/2 turn ? It iddles fine now, rpms are higher, it iddled slow before. Earlier it kind of 4 stroked in iddle and when starting to give throttle, it doesnt now. Hole shot seems to be little weaker now. My question is: Does the low speed jet influe on wot mixture too ? Can iddle mixture be too lean now ?

Re: Correct Iddle mixture

Low speed mixture shouldn't affect high speed mixture.

Easiest way to adjust LS mix is to richen until motor starts to load up and stumble a little, turn back in till motor noticably speed up and smooths out, then leave mix knob 1/2 way between.
