Correct idle rpm's?

2001 Mercury 90 HP 2 stroke carb Does anyone know what the rpm's at idle should be? I am reading 1,000 rpms at idle on muffs.

Thats about right as it will loose some rpm when it is submerged in water do to back pressure,
