I am trying to find the correct Merc part number for my 1997 Alpha gen II, ser # 0K044042. If there is a specific one that has exhaust tube vs bellows, would prefer that. I found "30-803098T 1" but think that is for gen 1, and some earlier drives.

Correct part number for the exhaust bellows for your transom assembly is -18654A1. The is only the exhaust bellows with its clamps, nothing else.

Ayuh,.........

Have a Look Here,.......

It has the exhaust Bellows,+ is the only 1 listed for the Gen.II......
You could always toss the bellows,+ buy the Tube seperately......

I was looking for the genuine merc part number for the kit, but may end up going with Sierra. The online parts lists don't help when a kit spans a couple schematics.

To the best of my knowledge Merc don't do a transom seal kit, you have to order the parts individually.

Chris, Here is the result of 30-803098T part search on MercuryPartsExpress:

Transom Seal Repair Kit
Fits R, MR & Alpha One w/ exhaust tube
Qty Part # Description Price
30-803098T 1 Transom Seal Repair Kit $201.25

It includes all three belows, clamps, hose, bearing, outdrive gasket, etc

I don't think it is for the genII though. I am fairly certain they have a gen II kit, just hard to find the specific part number.

So what is in it John??
Granted they have one listed for the R, MR, and Alpha I, but there isn't a similar kit for the Gen II drives.

Only problem is, it doesn't have the tube! And that is what you was looking for.

Here is the picture of the kit from Mercrury parts express for that PN.

Don't foget, to make things possible on parts express, you must have a SN for the drive. Without it, you can't even search....... unless you already have the part number.

yea, that was my dilemma. The serial number gave pictures for the individual parts, but not the kit. I ended up finding a part number from ebay.

But, if I scrolled far enough down in the link Bondo posted, I would have found it sooner.

It STILL doesn't have the exhaust tube, just the bellows.
The tube is what you was wanting from the beginning.

I will agree with one thing, it's almost impossible to find any kits from Merc. They hide the numbers, don't make it easy to locate, and basically keep it to themselves. Amazing they have done as well as they have.

Don,

Yes, it would be nice if there was an exhaust tube kit for genII. While I haven't done the addition, would think the genII kit + exhaust tube is more reasonable that individual parts. Maybe I'll risk it and go aftermarket on the tube. :)
