I just bought my first boat. Have been around boat all my life but never
owned one. I purchased this it from a guy I was storing it for that needed
money and made me a deal to good to pass up. The boat is a jon boat, 1955, Richline model 15. 14' in length. Steering control by attwood, free and moves well. Hummingbird Piranha fish finder, with a 36 lb thrust minkota trolling motor. Deck on both front and back with swivel seats, on pedistials.(sp)? Movable seat for stearing and middle passenger when fishing. Worked threw boat today, made everything function correctly. Rear motor is a 25 hp Evinrude, electric start by OMC, cables all free and functioning. The guy was in a hurry the day I bought it, so no time for 20 questions. shifts both forward and reverse, started first try, after clean up motor and plugs, and spraying out carb with cleaner. The delimea I have is the year of the motor. I have read alot of posts and looked at several of the charts on years and only found 1 motor in 1983 with a model close to my, The plates states it is an E25 ECTD, but the chart I looked at only showed an 25ECT, the serial number is E0223000. Have I found the right year? I need to replace the prop, as this is a short shaft, and the previous owner hit one to many rocks with it. Also the forward wedge on the lower unit, has had a pieces broken off. looks only minor as it does not expose the interior of the lower unit and appears cosmetic. Any help would be great, also would like info on a manual or shall I go to the site Evinrude suggests?
