I got a 15' glasspar fiberglass. with a 1972 evinrude 65 hp on it. the rpm range is 4500 too 5400. with just me in the boat at wot it is running at 4900.
should I try too get closer too the full rpms? if so I have a 13 1/4 x 17 prop on now. which prop would I need too bring the rpm's up? I know a lower pitch but don"t see a 3 1/4 x 16 looks like it goes too a 12 3/4 x 21. would this be right?
Thanks

Really need a max speed for the rpm to mean anything.
A 15 should put you at about 5,200.If the boat performs well now I think I would work on the setup.I you don't have any problem with ventilating now you need to raise the motor a little at a time to a point just before venting becomes a problem.Raise it a hole at a time and test with careful attention to trim.Be sure it pumps water when you test. You could gain some rpm and speed without investing any money.
