I have a 98 bass tracker with a 60 hp mercury. What is the correct gap I need on my spark plugs?

Re: Correct Spark Plug Gap

Are we to presume that the engine is a '98 as well? Please provide the engine s/n.

If it is a 1998 engine use the NGK BPZ8H-N-10 gapped at .040

Re: Correct Spark Plug Gap

Your s/n comes up as a model:

1060412TN MERCURY 1997 60

Parts listing:

http://www.crowleymarine.com/mercury-outboard/1680.cfm

Service Manual P/N: 90-817643R1

http://1manual.com/Mercury manuals/Service Manual PDFs/TwoStroke/817643r1/cover.pdf

You must have Adobe Acrobat reader installed to use this manual. If you scroll down to the lower part of the opening page, you will see the various engine components in red. Click on the one you want and when the first page opens, click on the "Save As" icon at the top LH corner of the page and you can save it to your computer.

You'll see your plugs under General Information and Specs.
