1983 60Hp Evinrude uses BZ7HS-10 gapped at .030 according to the NGK book. That would apply to either the 2- or 3-cylinder 60s. I take it Champions aren't easily found in South Africa.

Thanks for all the advice - I will now embark on a mission to find Champion - they are readily available in Cape Town, my home city!
