correct sparkplug for 1988 230 mercruiser i/o

I just bought an 88 regal with 2 230 mercs.I want to replace the champion plugs with ngk and the ngk plug yr5 looks to be very different.Any thoughts as to why??

use a ngk br6fs

Thanks for the reply john.I use br6fs in my 260 merccr.(5.7 block) the ngk book calls for yr5 on the 230 mercr.(5.0 block).The problem is that the champion rv15yc4 that are in there now are longer on the head than the yr5.I dont know if this is ok. CC
