Corrosion preventing me from changing the tilt cylinder on my 2006 Volvo SX!

Last year I bought a 2006 Regal 2000 that had been in saltwater all its life.

My left trim ram has been leaking progressively more, and now I found my drive fully dropped due to fluid leaking from the cylinder.

I have already taken it to 2 "marine mechanics" here in upstate NY, and both of them gave it back and said that if they tried to replace the ram, the hose ends would break off due to corrosion. The fore end of both trim cylinders are also seized to the 1" diameter "pin" connecting them. The aft pin is free in both (probably because of similar vs. dissimilar metals).

Since I can't use the boat anyway anymore, I thought I would try myself. My impression is that the threaded nut son the hydraulic lines are seized to the ram body, and will break off if I try to loosen them. The other ends of the lines thread into the transom shield - I REALLY don't want to break them off in there.

Other than "spray lots of penetrating oil" (Which I have done but have little faith in for galvanically fused parts), any other suggestions?

I guess heat is an option for the ram seized to the pin, but I'm afraid of damaging the hoses.

Has anyone here ever encountered and vanquished this?

PB Blaster is my fav penetrating oil. Dont know why you have no faith in them, they sometimes work wonders. You could always heat the fitting too. Buy a flare wrench to have a fighting chance at not damaging the line fitting.
