Now that we have climbed out of the sub zero temps for a few days, we are back in the snow making business.
Got 7 inches yesterday.
And the NOAA forecast for tomorrow reads like this:

Thursday Snow, mainly after noon. The snow could be heavy at times. High near 34. Southeast wind 5 to 8 mph becoming light and variable in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 100%.
New snow accumulation of 3 to 7 inches possible.

Thursday Night Snow with patchy blowing snow. The snow could be heavy at times. Low around 14. Breezy, with a north wind 6 to 11 mph becoming west 17 to 22 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 32 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%.
New snow accumulation of 3 to 7 inches possible.

That could mean up to 21" over 4 days. Not bad. Not bad at all. Unless you're a golfer. Or a boater. :)

Re: Could be an interesting Thursday.

Yup, we are having an 'old fashioned' New England winter . . . certainly not the cold that the upper mid-western states have seen, but the snow accumulation is getting over the top (literally)

A couple of weeks ago the snow was up to the mail box, now it is a few feet over the top. The snow piles along the driveway are over the top of the cars, we cannot really see to get out of the driveway anymore

Yesterday, we had a forecast of 4-6 inches of snow . . . got about 8 inches. I keep telling myself, spring is not that far off, but to no avail.

That much snow would make me ill. I don't know how you all live with it. I dread the winter we do get

Yep..... it's a real winter here too! Since it has not warmed up the snow is just accumulating and the piles are getting bigger........... I don't mind it and the snow cover actually saves us money since it insulates........... makes everything very quiet too!

yep getting the snow here to, can't wait till it warms up enough for the frost heaves to become thaw dips and whoops. road construction this year is going to be extreme.

I wish I was closer to our snowmobiles, should be a fun trip home from work today if the forecast pans out.

Alright y'all Northies ... you can officially start watching the SE for our turn at bat: First hint of strong thunderstorms, heavy flatline winds and tornados today in TN. 64?, but the big stuff is supposed to visit this afternoon.

Flat line winds around here can be pretty impressive. We've had sustained flats of 70MPH in the past.

Re: Could be an interesting Thursday.

We finally got above freezing (first time in 24 days) and now, thunderstorms tonight and may change to snow in the morning. Not that I'm complaining, I rarely ever have to plow the rain!

Yeah, right.....speak for yourself....and hope you don't get a nasty surprise :)
Referring back to your thread about weather channels and forecast accuracy, I just finished clearing 8 inches of "partly cloudy with showers" out of my driveway!!!:facepalm:

Hang on to your hats boys.

While my forecast has been toned back a bit, 5-12" with 25 mph winds;

WIMUSKY and grub1grub2 are expecting 12-21"

And you guys around the cities are looking at 10-15"

Haven't seen 21" yet. Have seen 15 - 18", not that there's much difference. 12" would be PLENTY. Just started snowing around 4pm....
