Re: Could be an interesting Thursday.

Forecast is changing every hour.
Looks like the heaviest stuff will be west and northwest of me.
One site is saying 2-4 for me, and another is saying 7-11.
It started here about 4:30.

Will you be plowing as it falls, or wait till its done?

I've been blowing the slop 2-3" at a time, my little single stage doesn't care much for the wet stuff.

For the most part I'll wait. There's a couple places I'd like to plow a couple time so it's a little easier. One guy is a reporter at the Birkie and wants to get out by 6am or so. He's at the end of long dead end road. I plow the whole thing. I have 60+ accounts and 1 truck. I would never be able to keep up. Most of my drives are around 1 - 2/10ths long. We're not talking city drives.... Is it over yet?

Went out in 0 visibility and plowed those accounts. They'll need it again tomorrow. Must have close to 10" and still coming down hard. No roads are plowed. Drove down the center trying to keep the truck between the snow banks....

I think this pretty much expresses most peoples opinions:

I went through PA one night and that happened to me(No plow though). Took a day or so to unclench my hands haha. You couldn't tell what was the road and what was a ditch or who knows what. You could only see a few feet in front of the truck. Just a nerve wracking experience. I would not like to go through that on a regular basis

88MPH winds clocked last night. No twisters, all flat stuff. Buncha' rain. Trees and power lines down here and there and several thousand without power.

... looks like spring is just about here.

We need up with only 7-8.
3" 40 mile to the east, and 12" 40 miles to the west.

Went for a drive today, the drifts are pretty awesome.

Hate to break it to ya boys but weather underground is forecasting well below normal temps for the week ahead and then 4 days in a row of more snow the following week.

Yeah, not even getting above 0 for a few of those days, and well below 0 for the next 10 nights.
Looks like 15* below normal for another 2 weeks.

I did my part by shutting the heat off in half the house, and keeping it below 60 in the other half, using a space heater to warm up the kitchen when needed. Saved the propane company from having to buy 250 gallons at the inflated prices.

But as soon as I get my tank filled at the end of the week, its time to turn up the heat in the shop and get to work on the boat project. Maybe, just maybe, I can get her done for this years Canada trip on May 30th. Otherwise, I'll be taking the old boat.
I've still got 500+ gallons coming on my pre-paid contract, So I might as well use then on the boat. :)

Right now, is still looks like this:

Yeup. Normal daytime high for us in the southern part of the state is 35 deg. By weather underground forecast we are not even going to reach out normal night time low temps for a daytime high.

Wife tells me to quit complaining you can't change it. Though I think if we all get together and get mad enough we can generate enough heat to break this cycle!

At least the stringers look solid.

Yeah, but the previous owner cut the floor supports out. Gonna be a challenge finding enough metal to rivet into.

Wiring issue on my plow winch yesterday. Too frustrated to fix it. Only half plowed out, oh well.

Re: Could be an interesting Thursday.

-5 degrees F here in the Boston area this morning . . . I'd say that is a bit below 'average' low for early March. Still have about 2 feet of hard-pack snow in the yard that will probably take until late April to melt . . .

Average low's should be in the low 20's for this time of year. . . . winter just won't give up  and I have some fiberglass work to do

Spring is a couple of weeks away, but who would know it by looking outside :noidea:

Re: Could be an interesting Thursday.

We are back to winter time after a balmy weekend. Cloudy, windy and low thirties right now. Warm yesterday and then temps plunged after the front went through. Like someone flipped a light switch. Just really depressing
