Couple of quick Sea-Foam questions

I just bought a pint of sea-foam in an attempt to de-carb motor in model year 2000 boat I recently bought. Nothing in particular wrong just a little preventative maintenence. My first question is what is the best way to administer the stuff? Just dump it down throttle body or suck it up through fuel line? Does it matter? Also the can says to let it percolate for 5 minutes then start motor and burn it out. Would it be any more effective to let it sit longer in motor, like overnight? Would that cause damage to any other parts? Motor is a Merc. 7.4 liter I/O with EFI. Not sure of hours but compression is good at 160 with one a liitle higher and one a little lower (152 and 175). Thanks.

Thanks. No cat on the boat so no worries there. Guess I'll dump half a can down the throttle body and throw the rest in the tank. Maybe let it sit for half an hour or so.

Everybody I know swears by it. Cars, trucks, small engine, boat.
But it was found by the general public, and got pricey.
I thought the market worked as-the more volume we sell, we can lower the price. Hah!

Ya I thought it was a little spendy. I think about 7.50. Oh well, labor at themarina is 98 bucks an hour so if it helps even a little I suppose it's money well spent. The gallon can was almost 50 dollars!!!!

Where are you folks finding SeaFoam priced that high? I'm still paying less than five bucks at my local farm store.

Bought it at Advance Auto. Had to go there to buy replacement bulb for brake light in wifes car last night. With price of gas at 3.75 I don't drive around to try and save a couple of bucks anymore. BTW 1 gallon of gas at local marina = 4.85!!! Not sure what octane rating but I now have 5 5 gallon cans I use for boat. They only cost $6 at Wal-Mart so I paid for them on first use. Oh, I live in SW Florida for sake of comparison.

My Wal-Mart has it for under $5. Had to go there for a camp trunk and was quite impressed with the boating stuff they had for good prices.

Rather than dumping it down the throttle body, pour it slowly into the pcv and let it suck it in slowly. Then kill the motor and let it sit.
I always let it suck a whole can and then add another in the tank.
Good stuff!!
