coupler inspection

Need to pull my motor 2000 5.o GM.rotten oil pan. Is there any way I can tell how much life the coupler has left to it, while I've got it out?

Top and bottom of the splines should be about equal with the top of the splines being square, if the top of the splines are pointy the coupler needs to be replaced.
