Is it possible to use marine bondo then cover it with epoxy such as gluv it? I know any bondo will absorb moisture, including marine bondo. But if you use epoxy to seal the bondo?

I know if you use automotive bondo, and it gets wet, it's going to swell and crack your epoxy.

Not sure if marine bondo will do the same?

I figured that epoxy would seal good enough and keep moisture out to keep it from cracking or swelling.

I used to paint cars and for rust work - I would seal the rust with fiberglass resin, apply bondo, then apply a top coat of fiberglass.

That's a good idea, I took a course at the college for rust repair, they taught us a different method of fiberglass first, bondo, and then mix the bondo with resin for the top coat, apparently this helps seal it as well, and the thinned bondo makes for an amazing smooth finish, free of air bubbles.
