How important is it? What type of cover is best to reflect the suns damaging rays? If it's stored outside, does the heat of the sun do any damage (I'm sure it won't do any good). Do I need to just remove it and take indoors when I don't plan on fishing for a couple weeks? Help!<br />

If you are going to cover your motor, it is best to do it loosely so that it can ventilate. Condensation can build up and cause corrosions on wires and what not. I dont cover my motor, but I also store it inside the garage.

I like a loose fitting cover over mine that's open at the bottom so it's ventilated. This is more to keep it dry and clean than for the sun, although the sun dosn't help the finish any. Under a roof would be best, but the carb has gas in it and may smell up the inside of a house.
