Thanks guys. It was a pretty scary couple of events. I was hospitalized on June 2nd with suspected covid19. I sat in the outdoor triage area for 5 hours before I was sent to the ER on a tram and then put into an isolation room. My wife was bawling her eyes out because she figured that it was the last time she'd ever see me as I rode away on the tram. Took about 20 minutes before I was examined in the ER and the covid19 test was taken, which came back about an hour later as negative. They kept me overnight for treatment anyway. Scary stuff. I was discharged the following afternoon.

My wife had been "working" from home for two months and on June 4th and 5th she returned to work at the school. On June 8th she was at work when another teacher was sent home with high fever and difficulty breathing. So we thought that we'd dodged a bullet earlier, only to have another scare in less than a week. :faint2:

But all is good now.

Thanks again. :)

That is a very good question, Sam. A lot of these different tests were given emergency approval with minimal verification, The rapid test seems to have a high percentage of inaccurate results and pretty much all tests have significant reports of false results. The antibody blood tests to see if you have had COVID are causing a false sense of relief of recovery of undiagnosed illness in quite a few results.

I wouldn't know what to do if a second test is clean, Did I have it or didn't I have? I think the best advice I've seen is take precautions like you have it and everybody around you, especially strangers, has it.

Still hope your SIL comes back clean.

Hands up - no clue. False positives, missed positives, fudged numbers - I'm clueless. IMHO no symptoms = no bug.

i did a little work on a deck around a pool folks here in my small town TN, she is a health care worker and she was one of our ~70 cases in the county (and her daughter). They were 16 days clear before I showed up to bid then another couple days after to start.

They told me barely any symptoms. That's the kicker about this - the seemingly randomness of it.

And i've been reading up that the post testing for antibodies is a shot in the dark at this time.

And my wife is in lockdown again. :grumpy:

That same coworker as in my earlier posts has a son who works for a bar and grill across town. Yesterday afternoon a regular patron came in and let them know that he tested Covid-19 positive. The bar was shut down and all employees were laid off and advised to get tested.

So now, out of an abundance of caution, my wife is locked down since she was in close contact with the mom. She's not sure if the son will actually get tested or not. AND she will still have to go back to work while isolating at home, since the mom didn't have direct contact with the Covid dude. No home life but regular work life. :mad-new:

And my neighbor told me that his 29 y.o. sister in Texas and her husband both have Covid-19.

This stuff is getting old. :ambivalence:

I don't understand why people aren't more concerned with what this virus is doing to the country.

We are I'm sure. I know I am but we have been very lucky last 13 years since we got married and we are positioned to be ok.

imo it's going to be a tough one, worst to come, and a long road back. I'm betting the markets have another 20%+ drop and stay there for a bit, then long slog back maybe five years before we get back to pre covid numbers.

I was doing a little research on this Corona Virus. And surprisingly enough, your actual blood type seem to work into the situation. If you have "A" types of blood, you are on the top of the list. "O" type seems to be on the bottom of the list. While not factually proven positive, the people that are getting seriously sick seem to be the "A" types of blood type while the ones that are only marginally ill are the "O" types. Something to think about... Who really knows? :noidea:

But it seems the people with no blood don't seem to get it at all. :stupid:

This isn't quite true. There *may* be some marginal benefit to certain blood types, but it isn't significant enough to offer any prognostic value for an individual. In other words, there is enough overlap in symptoms about all blood types to make it an unimportant factor

Soooo many quasi-facts rolling around you sort of have to wonder if the blood type stats are considering the population of blood types . . .

Show me how perceptive I am. I watched the video and didn't even hear the F-bomb. I guess that proves what the wifey says, that I never listen...
