Cowling Blew off on Highway / What are my replacement options ?

The Cowling / hood on my 2006 Yamaha 115TLR blew off somewhere between Harrisburg Pa and Heston , Pa. If you see it please send it home. In the mean time I need to replace the cowling. Yamaha says they do not supply this any longer. However the pre 2006 115's and 130 Hp look the same. Does anyone know if there are other yamaha cowlings that will fit this engine? Not worried so much about cosmetics or Sticker, just if the other / older hoods will fit this engine. Thanks for your help,

Although this is a upsetting event, I'm delighted that it did not hit another car or perhaps worse someone behind me on a motor cycle.
The hood was latched and secure and certainly could have killed someone riding behind me.

Wondering if i should report this to some highway safety agency?

There is two latches that secure that cowling and for both to fail, would be extremely rare. Many times owners think they are locked down when they aren't. You have to lift on both the front and rear of the cowling to be sure both are latched. They do get harder and harder to latch with age.
