cowling seal

Does anyone out there know I can find a top motor cowling gasket or seal for my Evinrude 115hp O/B. It's a 1969 model #115983E but will a later model work. Please help!!

Don't know, but you may be able to make your own.<br /><br />Are you familiar with with the rubber trim pieces they sell that goes around rough edges on your fiberglass?<br /><br />Anwyay, you can look them up on www.westmarine.com<br /><br />They sell them by the foot/or roll and some are 1/4 inch to 1 inch thick. You could slide it right around the cowl and I think it would work.<br /><br />Good luck.

Hi Gene,<br /> Beleive it or not,a Johnson/Evinrude dealer may be able to order a gasket to fit your cowl.It may be interchangable with newer models.Good Luck.
