Decided to take the vro pump completely out of my 1986 40hp and install a manual fuel pump to try and correct a idling issue I've had with this motor. While working on it I noticed the brass tube inside my top carb has a crack in it. Also, the cracked brass tube sticks up a little higher then the bottom carb brass tube.

Do you think this can affect the idling? The motor has always acted like it is starving for fuel while idling.

Also, what is this tube and the smaller one inside it?

Looks like you need a new carb body or different carb.

Anyone know where I can find some used carbs? Also, what size hoses will I need to install the manual pump? Would like to be ready when it gets here.
