Re: Cracked Block outcome

well i would like to tell ya'll that the JB weld worked. lots of prep time and drying time. i pulled the block out today and found one of the plugs were popped in the bell housing on the block. needless to say popped it back in and hooked everything back up. no water in oil either. starts right up with no leaks and runs like a champ. all i need now is seats
Thanks to everyone who has helped me out on this and your suggestions.
Nick

I'm happy to hear that it worked. A properly done job will last you a looooong time. I guess the only problem you would have now is if you ever tried to sell the boat, trying to convince the buyer that the boat ran fine like that for years. Maybe etch the date of the repair right at the repair site.

When I bought my boat it had/has 2 issues. JB weld repair like yours and no skeg. I picked up me 17' chris craft in excellent running condition for $1800 because of these things. It's definitely worth a lot more.

yeah this is true but even if i sold the boat for a 1000 bucks i still made a good profit on it with lots of run time.
