cracked block

Awesome. I went to check out my boat today and realized it was not fully drained of water. She froze and the there is a huge crack in the block. Sooooo at this point I am at a loss. Is the motor destine for the grave yard?

Is this something I can patch, if the water cooling system is low pressure? not sure if it is or not.

Motor is 165 hp mecury, around 1970 to 1971.

I found a motor for $400 and am wondering if I should rebuild or just replace the old motor. How intense would swapping the block be?

Is this the straight six? If so, be sure you have the front mount boss in the block - not all blocks have it. I'll post of pic of what I am talking about.

it is the straight 6. What would this boss do, is it for engine removal? or for a rebuild?
